This weeks spread is inspired by St Patrick’s Day which falls on friday this week. St Patrick is the patron Saint of Ireland. I wanted something that had elements of the Irish in it and chose to purchase this weekly kit from Oodlemadoodles for its use of cute pots of gold, rainbows and four leaf clovers. As always, I am totally in love with the spread and am really enjoying having my planner open on my desk to peek at during the day (and use of course!!!)
Here it is all stuck down in my Filofax Malden Personal in Kingfisher Blue 🙂
Here’s a look back at last weeks spread…unfortunately I came down with a cold (I keep refferring to is as Almost Flu, because it was almost flu but couldn’t have been as I have had the flu jab…) so I didn’t really do much last week except sleep and cwtch up on the sofa under a blanket.
You can find all my other weekly spreads here along with the details on the kit I used last week.
How have you decorated for this week?
Week on a Page (WOAP) inserts are a fab addition to more compact planners (like the Filofax Saffiano Compact or the Temperley for Filofax Ikat print wallet) or even small planners like the Pocket Filofax range or the Mini, anywhere that space may be tight. I love WOAP inserts for my wallet Filofax, I can still carry around my plans and jot down any important appointments to transfer them over to my personal planner when I get home.
I don’t currently use WOAP inserts as I rarely go anywhere that I am not carrying around my bag with my day to day planner in it (and really I don’t have much to plan appointment wise) but I did find this format really handy when I was in university and needed to keep track of assignments, classes and when library books were due back. I also used this format to keep track of different shifts in my jobs that I was working at the time (in a Pocket Domino Filofax!)
I am considering setting up my Saffiano Compact at some point using WOAP inserts to track my blog posts for next year! I am currently using a diary that I bought from WH Smith which I love along with a Paperblanks notebook for blog notes and ideas but think that combining notes and a diary for next year might be easier as everything will be together under one cover so to speak!
Do you use WOAP inserts?
There are so many different ways to personalize your planner but one of the easiest ways to make it truly yours is to start by personalizing the pages that you will probably use most – your diary inserts. It doesn’t matter which format you use or what size but there is something nice about putting your own mark onto your pages. There are lots of different ways of making the pages truly yours form doodling around the edges, color coding your notes, functional stickers to mark bin days and household routines to full blown weekly sticker kits, washi edges or delicate calligraphic writing, the choice (as they say) is yours.
I started out decorating my pages a few years ago, at the time I was using day to a page format in my Personal Pink Filofax Classic, with a washi strip at the top and bottom of the pages, using the same washi for each day of that week before changing to a different washi the following week. I made the mistake of decorating all the pages like this for the year in pretty much one sitting so I didn’t really have anything to think about or look forward to week to week decorating wise. I then switched to an A5 Paperchase planner which had week on 2 pages inserts that I started to decorate with stickers and washi, I loved the space and the format but the planner was a little too big to lug around daily in all honesty.
Now I am in a personal sized Kingfisher Blue Filofax Malden and using WO2P inserts again. I decided to use weekly kits to decorate for this year and have so far loved each week in my planner. I decorate my pages on a Sunday and share the images to my Instagram (@plannermontannah). I find decorating for the week ahead to be really therapeutic and it gives me something to look forward to each week, and there is something really nice about looking through your weeks and seeing how each one changes and differs.

Have you personalised your diary pages? If so how?
I am going to attempt to decorate each week spread and share my layout and pages here on a Sunday and a Wednesday. You can follow the spreads on my plannergram @plannermontannah and find other peoples spreads using the hashtag search terms #spreademwidesunday and #halfweekhumping (really worth checking out for inspiration and to check out how pretty other peoples pages are!)
Anyway, without further ado…here are my spread pages, I started last week as that was when my inserts started from…

The sticker kit used was from KayeLimePie
And this weeks spread also uses a kit from KayeLimePie…
We didn’t do much on New Years eve, we went for food in the day then I spent my evening decorating the above pages and planning for the year! 🙂
How did you spend your New Years Eve?
Welcome back to my planner blog! I have been away from the blog for quite some time, I have been thinking about the direction I want to take the blog in and working on a schedule of posts that I will be sharing through 2017. The way I write my posts has changed and whereas I used to write a post as it popped into my head, I have now devised a calendar that makes sense, meaning that I will be posting more regularly, always have a topic to write about and have some structure to work with. I feel that the way I used to post was a bit hap hazardous and I always seemed to struggle with topics to write about when thinking/writing off the cuff.
2017 will see me returning to blog more regularly, I am aiming to blog here around 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) on various topics and on a Sunday I shall be sharing the following weeks spread. I will be sharing my set-up, loves, products and a whole host of other subjects all planner related!
Even though I have not been blogging regularly I have still been using my planner, recently switching from my personal pink Classic Filofax to a new (Birthday present from the Boy!) Filofax Malden personal in Kingfisher Blue! I have also set up a planner related Instagram where I have been sharing planner related images. You can find my plannergram over at @plannermontannah,
The other TWO, yes, two big things I have worked on are getting this site set up as a dot.com (see the address bar above!!!!) and I have also set up an etsy store! I have been busy making planner charms, photographing and listing them and they can be viewed over at https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Plannermontannah?ref=search_shop_redirect , I will be adding more to the store as time goes on! I have a few plans for things I would like to make and ideas of expanding the selection to include other planner related goodies along with my planner charms!
