This Weeks Spread (for week 20th – 26th Mar)

This week I have gone for one of my favorite subjects ever – pirates!  I bought this kit from The Ginger Cat Co .  Here’s my layout…

I got recommended The Ginger Cat Co on a facebook group when I was looking for a new shop to buy from.  There were so many stickers that I have enough to do a few more layouts later on in the year.  I did have to cut down the checklist stickers as they were a bit too long for my day spaces but that just means I now have even more to use later on!  These stickers are lovely and really nicely printed.  They are printed onto matte adhesive paper and came away from the backing paper really easily and stuck down well.  I have bought days of the week stickers from Shona (who runs The Ginger Cat Co) which will be popping up on a spread in the near future!

Here’s a peek back at last weeks spread…

This Weeks Spread (for week 13th – 19th Mar)

This weeks spread is inspired by St Patrick’s Day which falls on friday this week.  St Patrick is the patron Saint of Ireland.  I wanted something that had elements of the Irish in it and chose to purchase this weekly kit from Oodlemadoodles for its use of cute pots of gold, rainbows and four leaf clovers.  As always, I am totally in love with the spread and am really enjoying having my planner open on my desk to peek at during the day (and use of course!!!)

Here it is all stuck down in my Filofax Malden Personal in Kingfisher Blue 🙂

Here’s a look back at last weeks spread…unfortunately I came down with a cold (I keep refferring to is as Almost Flu, because it was almost flu but couldn’t have been as I have had the flu jab…) so I didn’t really do much last week except sleep and cwtch up on the sofa under a blanket.

This Weeks Spread (for week 6th – 12th Mar)

This weeks layout uses a kit I bought from Adore Pretty Plans on etsy.  I was browsing for something pastel toned and my eye caught this kit.  I ordered this on the 21st of Jan and received it shortly after.  The kit is printed onto matte paper and was easy to lift and place.  I really like the boxes with the checks on them that I have used on the Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday days as they give defined space to write plans in and they are something I have never used before!  The unicorns are pretty cute too and add an element of fun, pulling together the whole layout.  I am really enjoying looking at these pages as they are and can not wait to get my plans written down in them!

Here’s a peek back at last weeks custom layout created by the lovely Grace over at Oodlemadoodles for me for St Davids Day

Dividers

Dividers are an easy way to keep track of the contents of your planner and section them out from each other, making things easier to find, and using your planner a lot easier.

Most new planners come with a set of inserts, Filofax and Paperchase both include the current years diary, notepaper and an a-z phone section among others along with a set of dividers, sometimes they are labelled for each section and other times they are blank.  The blank ones give you better placement options for your sections, what sections you use and how you want them to be labelled.

The other thing, aside from the practical aspect, that I like about dividers is that switching them about and using either pre-made or making your own style dividers is one of the easiest ways to personalize and really make your planner your own.  There are lots of people over on etsy that make dividers for all sorts of planners, from Filofax to Kiki K, to Happy Planner, the easiest way to find what you are looking for is to be specific in your search terms, for example, if I was browsing etsy for dividers for my planner I would search “filofax personal sized dividers” which will  bring up so many search results, the trick now is to narrow down your search field by, for example adding “glitter” or “rainbow” or “cartoon” between the words “sized” and “dividers”.  Knowing the broad terms for the style you are looking for really helps.

Alternatively, you could make your own, which I will be showing you in my Planner Makes series on Monday 20th February!

What dividers do you use and what categories do they mark in your planner?

Weekly Decorated Pages (Wk 3 – 10, 13/1/14 – 9/3/14)

Wk 3

Week 3 (13/1/14 – 19/1/14) This was my first week of adding anything in to my pages which wasn’t just plain sticky notes, the Cat sticky notes were from a set of sticky notes which I purchased from Accessorize.  The “to do” sticky note came from WH Smiths.  This week was one of the busiest I’d had as I was working on my dissertation as well as working full time.

Wk 4

Week 4 (20/1/14 – 26/1/14).  Another fairly plain week as I was still busy with my dissertation and work.  I got the washi tape from Paperchase and the owl, butterfly, deer and squirrel stickers came from Accessorize.  The “to do” sticky note was the same as before.

Wk 5 a

Week 5 (27/1/14 – 2/2/14)  This week was a bit more decorated 🙂  .  I used star washi from Paperchase and embellished it with some stick on gems from The Range, owl and squirrel stickers from Accessorize and some straight outline stickers, with glitter on them, to divide up my days a bit more.  I also used a Project Life card that had been sent to me in a RAK, which I secured using sticky hole re-enforcers, this was used as extra space to secure some post-its to that had lists on them which needed to be done but didn’t really have an assigned day to do them in.

Wk 6 a

Wk 6 b

Week 6 (3/2/14 – 9/2/14)  This weeks theme was black and white with a hint of sparkles.  I bought the black and white chevron style washi from The Range, it came with another washi tape which was white with black polka dots.  I used a postcard from the book Everything is Connected by Keri Smith to create extra space for lists etc, again I used some straight outline stickers to ad interest to the page edges and used some diamante photo corners on the bottom left and top right of the pages.

Wk 7Week 7 (10/2/14 – 16/2/14)  This weeks theme was brights!  I got the washi tape from The Range, the bug stickers came from Tesco, heart gem stickies came from Poundland, the smiley face stickers (which are fuzzy!!!!) came with a plant I had ordered online, the heart sticky notes were sent to me in a RAK, the flower sticky note came from a set that I bought in The Works book store and I used glitter straight outline stickers to divide out my days.

Wk 8

Week 8 (17/2/14 – 23/2/14)  was a fairly busy week but not in terms of planning.  I was working on my dissertation for the most part and spent a lot of my time hidden away in my spare room writing.  I decorated this set of pages with washi from The Range, glitter straight outline stickers and not much else.

Wk 9

Week 9 ( 24/2/14 – 2/3/14) was butterfly/pink themed.  I used bunting washi from The Range, straight outline stickers to divide up my days and add interest to the edges of the pages, photo corner stickers from The Range, butterfly stickers that I’d been gifted to me in a RAK which were overlaid with butterfly outline stickers and embellished with some sticky gems (both from The Range)

Wk 10 a

Wk 10 b

Week 10 (3/3/14 – 9/3/14)  I started trying out a different way to lay out my week using the same WO2P inserts that I already have, I decided to divide the pages into 3, 1 for morning, afternoon ad evening so I can see at a glance what is happening where and what time each day instead of having to read through a load of writing.  I also bought in a color coding system of different color pens for different items (I’m using Triplus Fineliner pens, I love them!)  I went for a blue theme for this week using blue stripey washi from The Range layered with printed “Follow Your Dreams” tape over the top (from Etsy) and glitter straight outline stickers to mark the days.  I used a postcard from Kari Smith’s book “Everything is Connected” to create room for lists which I decorated with the same washi tape that I used on the page top and bottom and a corner sticker from The Range.
