Today is St David’s Day – the Patron Saint of Wales which, living and having grown up in Wales I really wanted to commemorate in my planner. I searched high and low for any welsh or Wales themed stickers or kits (leeks, daffodils and dragons were my number one choice…) and turned up next to nothing (unlike St Patrick’s day where I was overwhelmed with choice…). I had noted a while ago that Oodlemadoodles (my favorite planner kit shop…) had a “Request Custom Order” button so I got in touch with Grace, the owner of Oodlemadoodles, and explained what I was after via the conversation function. Grace replied and then sent me an image of the kit she had designed and I was over the moon to say the least! She totally understood what I was after. I paid for my kit and was really impressed that it arrived so quickly afterwards. The whole process was really easy and I will definitely be ordering further custom kits in the future (I have a few occasions that I would love to mark in a totally original way!)
The kit came with a large character sticker, 2 decorative edge strips, several flags and decorative stickers, days of the week coverups, functional stickers, meal plan stickers and cute box stickers (all the things you can see on Grace’s usual personal planner section )!
So a big THANK YOU to Grace over at Oodlemadoodles for making my day and my week!!!!
So… here, finally is my weekly layout
Even before I used the kit they looked truly fab!
How cute is that dragon? 🙂
And finally a peek back to last weeks layout!
This weeks spread uses a kit from Oodlemadoodles called Unicorn Dreams which I fell in love with a short while ago! I bought the kit and it came super fast, it is lovely, the colors are bright and the Unicorn is the cutest! I think this might be my all time favorite spread so far!
Here’s a look back at last weeks layout (also from Oodlemadoodles…)
How have you decorated for the week ahead?
I have really surprised myself, normally by now I would be having layout and planner envy and wishing that I had set up my planner in a different way or be wanting to introduce something else into my planner to “try”, but this has not happened yet…. Maybe I have found the elusive “Planner Peace” finally?
I am still enjoying decorating my pages and filling in my plans week to week, the only tweak I have made is the addition of tiny post-its which I write future plans on and date before sticking to the relevant day if the week has not yet been decorated.
I have been using Oodlemadoodles kits for a short while and I am loving the inclusion of the meal plan stickers (little circles with knife and fork motif’s) which have been helping me to plan my meals (and shopping lists). I am usually a really lousy meal planner and just grab something and go , and while this has worked in some ways, in others it hasn’t (like it can be a pretty unhealthy way to eat…) so meal planning is something new but is helping me diet wise and also time wise – less faffing around and thinking about what to have, and it’s something I think I may just stick with planner wise!

What things have you changed in your planner this month? What has worked and what hasn’t?
There are so many different ways to personalize your planner but one of the easiest ways to make it truly yours is to start by personalizing the pages that you will probably use most – your diary inserts. It doesn’t matter which format you use or what size but there is something nice about putting your own mark onto your pages. There are lots of different ways of making the pages truly yours form doodling around the edges, color coding your notes, functional stickers to mark bin days and household routines to full blown weekly sticker kits, washi edges or delicate calligraphic writing, the choice (as they say) is yours.
I started out decorating my pages a few years ago, at the time I was using day to a page format in my Personal Pink Filofax Classic, with a washi strip at the top and bottom of the pages, using the same washi for each day of that week before changing to a different washi the following week. I made the mistake of decorating all the pages like this for the year in pretty much one sitting so I didn’t really have anything to think about or look forward to week to week decorating wise. I then switched to an A5 Paperchase planner which had week on 2 pages inserts that I started to decorate with stickers and washi, I loved the space and the format but the planner was a little too big to lug around daily in all honesty.
Now I am in a personal sized Kingfisher Blue Filofax Malden and using WO2P inserts again. I decided to use weekly kits to decorate for this year and have so far loved each week in my planner. I decorate my pages on a Sunday and share the images to my Instagram (@plannermontannah). I find decorating for the week ahead to be really therapeutic and it gives me something to look forward to each week, and there is something really nice about looking through your weeks and seeing how each one changes and differs.

Have you personalised your diary pages? If so how?
This week’s spread is from Oodlemadoodles on etsy and the kit I chose to purchase is “Winters Keeper“. I have only just discovered Oodlemadoodles shop whilst browsing UK based sellers and I’m pretty much in love with each of the kits that shop owner Grace has designed (and have made several purchases since!!!). I chose Winters Keeper for this weeks spread as I love owls and we have had some pretty chilly weather and a few mornings of frost here this past week, also I really love the grey and white hues that have been chosen for the other parts of this kit. the stickers themselves are really lovely quality and I was able to peel and restick a couple with ease (my alignment was out on a couple of the heart list flags). I chose the matt option which feel very soft and almost dusty (but not in a dirty or bad way!) and so far have been easy to write plans on to! The kit had lots of extra stickers, like the tiny book arrow (bottom of page on left), meal plan stickers along with cute matching decorative owl and flower stickers. I added one extra sticker from DookPlookDesigns – the little pastel blue recycle bin in Tuesday’s section which is the perfect size for my personal week on two page spread!
Here’s a look at the end of last weeks spread…
The kit I used is from another favorite store – Filofabulouss and you can find more info here.
The planner I am using is a Filofax Malden personal sized in Kingfisher Blue!
What is your week looking like? Are there any kits which you would recommend?
This week I chose to decorate my pages with a kit from Filofabulouss and a few stickers from a sheet by Little Rainbow Moon (the arrows on Wednesday and Sunday) which complement the feathers theme perfectly! I have added re-cycle and shopping trolley stickers (not sure on where from originally, I received them in a RAK) to remind myself when the recycling is due out and to mark my shopping days!
